Welcome to my website! I’m very excited to have this opportunity to share my views on healing and wellness with you. For so long, the paradigm of healthcare has been to fix any physical problem through surgery or medication. However, a human being is more than just a physical body. For true healing, the thought patterns, emotions and Spirit have to be considered. Treating the whole individual results in powerful, long lasting well being. Complementary therapies such as Polarity and Cranial Sacral support the whole being’s natural tendency towards health and happiness.
In my early 30’s, I went through some very difficult times that led to significant health problems. After two years of medical treatment and multiple surgeries, I realized there was more to these issues than the physical aspect the doctors had diagnosed. I now see that time as a wake up call from my Spirit. My body was trying to let me know that things were out of balance in my life, and I needed to pay attention. Even though, at the time, I was overwhelmed by physical and emotional pain, I found a strength inside that allowed me to start taking care of myself and listening to my inner wisdom.
Suppressed emotions can have a devastating effect on our lives. They create illness and stagnancy in our energy system, which manifests as pain or disease. As children we learn early on that it is not safe to express our emotions freely. An infant can move through a range of emotions in a very short period of time and end up happily laughing. Soon, social conditioning teaches us to consciously or unconsciously repress our feelings. This creates a field of blocked energy, and from that time on, we respond out of that obstructed pattern. Blocked emotions talk to us through addictions, anxiety, depression, pain or illness.
The most challenging aspect of healing the emotional self is the thought that we have to do something with our feelings. In truth we are simply called to be with ourselves in an open and loving way. This allows movement and clearing of blocked emotions. In the world of emotions, there is no right and wrong. It is the suppression of emotions that creates stagnation and ill-health.
Hint: Begin a daily practice that is a commitment to your Spirit no matter how small, and watch your life take on a new direction:
- read an inspirational message each day
- practice daily meditation or prayer
- try yoga, tai chi or chi gong
- observe your thoughts at various intervals
- keep a journal of your thoughts
