Good Monday morning. Meditation will be tonight at 7 as usual. See you there. Please let me know via text or email if you will be there. I wanted to do a full moon at the labyrinth but think it is a bit flooded from last night.

Do you have enough space in your life? Do you fill your moments with activities and work? How comfortable are you to be alone with yourself. Do you like to spend time just being or do you find that that is when your mind goes into full gear with thoughts and judgments? Let’s explore the element of Ether which is the spaciousness. If we don’t allow stillness in our lives there is no space for new ideas or opportunities to enter.

Ether is the container for the other four elements. It is neutral and abstract in nature and allows emotions the space to flow freely. In neutral space, we have the freedom to truly dream. In ether, we are in tune with the wisdom of the universe, ideas are born and dreams stretch into possibilities. It is the expanse of nature and the deep wisdom that is spoken through all of the elements: air, fire, water and earth. Ether in the body is connected to the throat chakra and the joints. Our voice in the world has power if it is allowed the space it needs to express ourselves. Our joints are healthier if there is space and fluidity for their movement. Our spine which is our lifeline needs space between the vertebrae to stay healthy and flexible. Take some quiet space to be present with yourself and listen to what calls you from within and to what needs attention.

The positive aspects of Ether are

  • Spaciousness
  • Appropriate boundaries
  • Room to breathe
  • Surrendering to the flow of the universe
  • Positive humility
  • The negative aspects of Ether are

  • Lack of space
  • Unhealthy boundaries
  • Feeling compressed
  • Trying to control the flow of the universe
  • Unhealthy pride and ego attachment
  • Our energy system is expressed through the elements, Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. When you pay attention to how we communicate it often has some elemental reference, like “She is very grounded” “That was a very fiery interaction”. Another way we connect within is through the physical body like “I had a gut feeling” “My heart is heavy” and we can go on. Understanding the elements helps us understand both ourselves and each other. Today I am starting with Ether because it is the container in which the other 4 elements are expressed. The elements I am sharing are from the Ayurvedic system.

    Love and Light, Marion
