The Challenge of Space

There is so much talk about the present moment. What does it all really mean, to live in the present? Where else would we be? It is the sophisticated mind of the human being that takes us back into our past, into the wounds or regrets from before. It also transports us into the future through anxiety or fear of what might or might not happen ahead. While being at the ocean this week alone with nothing but time and space, and of course, the beauty of Mother Earth all around me, how could I find it challenging to stay present? This is a question I have been reflecting on as I found myself rushing forward to the next thing to get done for the first couple of days. Realizing that my nervous system is wired that way after years of raising children and working and having to be somewhere constantly, I am amazed at the power of the pull. Don’t I teach about staying in present time? Haven’t I pointed out to others that they are losing power by staying stuck in past hurts or anxiety over the future. My gratitude for my work with clients that ensures I spend much of my day in the present moment listening to their whole being and holding sacred space for them is growing by the minute. Can I do that for myself now? Am I able to slow down enough to remain quiet when it is not for another, whether that be children, partner, friends, clients, colleagues? Can I find stillness in my relationship with myself?

Personally, I find that I am pulled more into the future than the past. I even struggled through my meditation this morning because I had to look over some emails regarding my website. It was 5:30 am, not exactly urgent, especially because all I had coming up later was my 45 minute hike to the coffee shop, relaxing there and then walking back, along the sea, no less. Yes, I am here to get some writing done, but will my life really be changed if I don’t do that now? Probably not, however if I don’t offer myself the gift of sitting in this angst and finding center in the midst of it, I will surely limit my peace and happiness and my ability to manifest and create what I really want for me. There it is, What does my heart really desire and am I willing to open myself to receiving it through surrender? I surely hope so.

Are Your Wheels Spinning?

Each of us possesses an intellectual mind, a physical body and an unlimited spirit. But we’re more than that. We also have an emotional body and an energy system. Our energy systems are powerfully affected by our thoughts, feelings, actions and environment. When we tune into them, they can guide us toward a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

According to Eastern medicine, good health is maintained by the flow of energy and ill health is the result of energy stagnation. Good health includes a strong body, a quiet mind, balanced emotions and a joyous spirit. One of the keys to understanding our energy systems is to learn about the chakras.
Based on ancient yoga teachings in India, the word chakra means “disk” or “wheel” in the Sanskrit language. The chakras radiate out from the central nerves of the spinal cord and are located in seven areas, from the base of the pelvis to the crown of the head. Psychologically speaking, each chakra relates to an area of our lives:
Chakra One (Root Chakra) – Who we are, our roots and survival, security
Chakra Two (Sex Chakra) – How we feel, sexuality, sensuality
Chakra Three (Solar Plexus Chakra) – What you do, power, action
Chakra Four (Heart Chakra) – How we love, giving and receiving love, acceptance
Chakra Five (Throat Chakra) – What we say, communication, expression
Chakra Six (Brow Chakra) – What you know, imagination, intuition
Chakra Seven (Crown Chakra) – Our connection to Spirit or Higher Power, spirituality
When healthy and open, our chakras are constantly spinning. They register information about the health of the glands and organs connected to them. They correspond to different aspects of the bodyʼs physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state.

For example, you may have felt a lump in your throat when you needed to say something but couldn’t. Or you may have felt a pain in your heart when you felt betrayed. If you’ve ever explored energy work, you may have felt other various physical sensations, including tingling and warmth. These are your amazing chakras at work, registering your experience in your physical and energetic body. They provide a wonderful tool that teaches us about how to live healthy, joyous and creative lives.
If we take it a step further, the chakra system is like a secret code that helps us connect our physical and spiritual worlds. At some time in our lives, we all seek the answers to who we are and what our purpose is here on Earth. We are more than our bodies, our thoughts and our actions. We are all part of something bigger than ourselves, yet we are each our own individual spirit.
If you haven’t explored the chakras, I invite you to do so. There is much more to learn about you and the world around you. The more you live from the inside out, the more freedom you will attain.

Marion

As Above, so Below. As Without, so Within

Dr. Randolph Stone, the founder of Polarity Therapy Stated that “the movement of
opposites is implicit in all of Creation.” Our journey on this Earth is to reclaim that
connection with our Oneness by embarking on the adventure of finding relationship with the polarities or duality of life. It is through the experiences and emotions of our lives that we find connection once again to our essential Selves – a remembering of who we really are.
So often we question what our lives bring us, or try to understand what is happening and “why”. This however limits us to an intellectual life missing all the passion and wisdom of our body and spirit. While the thinking mind is important, when left to its own devices, it loves to control our Spirits. This leads to a very contracted way of being and limits the possibility of experiencing true joy and creating what we truly desire.
To experience the true expansion of our soulʼs purpose, we need to allow for full
contraction into our deeper Selves to access the full Breath of Life. Use your world
around you to learn about yourself. Be amused by what you notice or what charges you and look for those characteristics within you. Never judging, just observing. Allow yourself to let go of the false patterns of belief that have been running you and live in a more conscious, honest way that is assured to bring you Freedom. Be courageous and donʼt expect it to be easy and pain free, however, know that you have everything you need within you to guide and support you through this journey.
This will bring you full breath and with that breath you will begin to uncover your
dharma, your desires and your Spirit.
What could be greater than that? Once you have that gem, no-one can take it away from you.

Craniosacral Therapy for cancer patients

Recently I was contacted by Mesothelioma.com.
The person I spoke with was interested in promoting Craniosacral Therapy for cancer patients because The American Cancer Society has now stated that Craniosacral Therapy can be a beneficial, non-invasive addition to a cancer patient’s treatment regimen, as it may relieve pain, headaches and lessen patient discomfort. When used in harmony with conventional cancer management methods, such as chemotherapy, Craniosacral Therapy may not only promote a sense of calm, it is also said to aid in the function of a cancer sufferer’s immune system!

To learn how pleural mesothelioma patients are using craniosacral therapy as palliative care during cancer treatment, and other valuable information about this rare form of cancer that occurs in the lining of the lungs and abdomen, visit www.mesothelioma.com, a leading web resource for those affected by mesothelioma.

Healing of so many kinds can be achieved through Craniosacral Therapy’s ability to activate the body’s own internal healing systems. Now is the time to improve the health and happiness of anyone suffering.
